07/07/2024: Regional Shuttle - The Armidale School (TAS) has been added to the reservation system. No surcharge. Other Armidale schools are available on request (subject to $10 off-route surcharge).

03/02/2025: Regional Shuttle - Coffs Harbour Southern Cross University stop added.
28/04/2025: Regional Shuttle - DT12 was designed to get Dorrigo, Thora and Bellingen passengers to Urunga for XPT36. This train has now been cancelled for the next year while it gets refurbished. The replacement coach in that time slot does not stop at Urunga. We suggest waiting for the mid-morning train XPT32 at 11:28 am. DT12 will depart Dorrigo at 6:05 am for now instead of 5:45 am.
22/09/2025: On Demand - Until further notice we won't use the Grafton Road from Tyringham to Grafton. The road is severely damaged and does not meet our safety standards.
06/11/2025: Regional Shuttle - We have had recent questions about bringing along animals. As covered elsewhere on the website, we take registered service animals (as per regulations). As for other animals it's a no. We may under certain circumstances be able to approve a small pet in a spill-proof animal cage. This cage would go in the luggage area at the rear of the car or bus.
06/11/2025: Regional Shuttle - We have had many recent requests for concession fares. This service has been unable to get any government assistance despite trying again this year. We have no possible sustainable way to sell tickets below cost. Instead, we offer everyone the lowest possible fare that still allows us to pay our input costs including vehicles, insurance, fuel and government charges.
Also note that per kilometre, this B-Road route is more expensive to operate than mainline services. Think time, fuel, vehicle wear and vehicle damage. We are not bookended by capital cities to help boost passenger volumes. We don't have wealthy international owners who can cross subsidise regional routes.
15/12/2025: From time to time, we get enquires for bus freight. We would suggest contacting a local courier service such as Waterfall Way Couriers. For an emergency situation or public holiday, we may be able to help but note we don't have freight depots and the passenger timetable does not allow us to go off route for door-to-door freight. You would need to meet the driver at a bus stop, but contact us first.
30/12/2025: Regional Shuttle DT18 / DT19 will operate several services in Jan 2026. From Feb 2026 on, will run only on the first Monday of each month. We have had to scale the service right back due to low demand. Despite the support and likes on Facebook and the big gap in regional transport it was designed to fill, after a year it has still not reached breakeven.
01/01/2026: Dorrigo Transit continues to support community radio 2BBB. We wish them a successful 2026.
07/01/2026: Regional Shuttle - Bookings now open until 30/04/2026. More dates will be added later.
20/01/2026: Regional Shuttle - Waterfall Way closed between Bellingen and Thora (landslide). Detour currently open and can add up to 30 minutes travel time.
28/01/2026: Regional Shuttle - Waterfall Way still closed. Some services over the next weeks have been cancelled.

No services from Monday 15/06/2026 to Sunday 28/06/2026 inclusive.
No services from Monday 10/08/2026 to Thursday 20/08/2026 inclusive.
These are planned shutdowns for the very quiet winter off-season and to help comply with fatigue / safety management.
A year-round service is not possible without price increases or some government support.
